As they say practice makes perfection!!
When you study medicine in Mexico you practice hands on as early as the second year in medicine. Because of the amount of people to be provided with health services in the goverment general hospitals, students, under supervision will attend up to 10 surgeries, perform any hands on activity in at least one surgery, visit up to 50 beds and give consultation up to 100 persons a day. By the time they end their main basic education they have enough practice to have their own consultation or surgery office. Later on a 80% of medical doctors will pursuit an specialty or two that will be in Public hospitals and they will study and perform different activities hands on in more than 100 patients a week.
A huge part of the Doctors in Mexico will attend a seminar, convention or fellowship at least every 4 months and attend once a month to their board meetings. Because in Mexico traveling is encourage at the same time that learning languages is encourage, attending to different countries is a must do.
New procedures propose in Europe or Brazil are explored and perfection developes as new non-invasive, in and out procedures.
Interesting that so many American doctors come to Mexico to do their fellowships with some of the best World Wide renoun doctors.
